Beautiful Bali, my second home, my spirit place, my place of growth. This Island holds a piece of me, a part of my soul. There's something so special about Bali, it's full of so much love, gratitude and pure magic.
The land of wonder and spiritualty.
But, I'll try.
My home is Ubud. With its fresh jungle terrain, delicious vegan food and endless dance parties, it's my kind of place. No it's not all Orgies!! As people often think.
There's something about Ubud - something I cannot put into words. There's such a strong sense of community there, I swear we all know eachother. If you live there for a substantial amount of time I guarantee that you'll always know someone who knows someone who knows someone...you get the vibe. It's a place where I just feel fresh and whole - like an orange that's just been peeled. Home of my favourite 'Jamu Juice' (which I'm going to post a recipe for on here very soon), one of my favourite yoga studios (Radiently Alive) and one of the best healers (Ketut at Bodyworks).
Ubud means medicine, literally! It has healing powers and I definitely feel that it is my medicine, which I'm happy to overdose on.
There's always something happening in Ubud, conscious parties, ecstatic dances, cacao ceremonies and workshops, etc.
Ubud, I'd say is the place where I awakened, spiritually, on a much deeper level than ever before.
Indulging in such a beautiful level of self care, surrounding myself with like minded individuals and living in a more conscious community, it made a huge impact on my life, in such a possitive way.
I'm thankful to you Ubud, for being such a huge part of my life, for accepting me into your community and lifestyle and for teaching me things money could never buy.
Suksma!
I can't sit and write about all of Bali, as it wouldn't end! But another part I spend a lot of time in is, Canggu. With it's beatiful beaches, amazing food and endless surfing, it's a place I enjoy to relax.
Mornings are spent going to a yoga class, eating delicious breakfasts at Crate Cafe, followed by surfing until sunset.
By the way, if you haven't yet discovered Crate, you're missing out on life.
Pastel pinks and purples fill the sky and there's a real sense of calm and stillness at sunset here. One of my favourite spots to watch the sun come down is on the hilltop at main beach in Canggu. Or better yet, in the ocean on a board, sitting on top, legs dangling in the water, with the sweet sound of the waves.
Honestly, it's one of my favourite ways to spend my time. It's a time when I feel fully present and aware, and one of my greatest moments of appreciation and pure gratitude.
Love always,
EmJ
